Dennis A Livesey hails from Mamaroneck, New York, and grew up alongside the New Haven Railroad. He graduated from NYU Film School and went on to have a 32-year career as a motion picture camera assistant and operator. He has worked with such celebrities as Sylvester Stallone, Mel Gibson, Samuel L. Jackson, Madonna, and Miss Piggy. He has worked for Academy Award-winning cinematographers such as Sven Nyquist and Vilmos Zsigmond as well as the exceptional Bill Bulter, Fred Elmes, and Ken Kelsch. Currently, he is a camera specialist for B&H Photo and is a Federal Railroad Administration qualified volunteer conductor at The National Park Service’s Steamtown Historic Site. His photographs have been published in national calendars, on magazine covers, and in feature articles in Trains and Railfan & Railroad magazines. His work has been recognized in the Center for Railroad Photography and Art’s prestigious annual awards program. A Manhattanite for decades, he has raised two children with his wife and ladylove, Mel.
